On Tuesday, the Ministry of Planning held a joint meeting with a team from the Japanese side, chaired by the Director-General of the International Cooperation Department Dr. Sahr Abdul-Kazim Mahdi, to discuss the prospects for international development cooperation between the two sides.
The meeting saw a review and review of the technical and organizational provisions of the forthcoming Executive Agreement, which aims to develop the capacities and enhance the skills of national associations in a number of fields through specialized training programmes.
The meeting included an agreement on the signing of an international cooperation formula in the form of an executive agreement entitled Development Cooperation and Human Resource Strengthening, focusing on training programmes and institutional capacity building.
The Director-General of the International Cooperation Department confirmed during the meeting that this agreement was reached as a result of a series of fruitful discussions between the parties.
He pointed out that the development partnership with the Japanese side represents a qualitative addition to the Ministry's efforts to improve government performance, transfer global expertise and advanced experience.
For its part, the Japanese side expressed its commitment to supporting development plans and capacity development, explaining that joint training programs will include intensive workshops and specialized courses, as well as providing the technical support necessary to ensure the highest standards of quality and sustainability in implementation.
