The Information Technology Department of the Ministry of Planning on Tuesday, representing the Cybersecurity Division, organized an informational workshop for the Ministry employees, under the direct guidance of the Ministry's Deputy for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Hanaiah Ismail Al-Assadi, with the aim of raising awareness of cybersecurity concepts, and raising the level of digital culture among employees.
The workshop addressed the most prominent cyber risks and threats, how to deal with them and mitigate their effects, as well as a number of important themes, including cyber-hunting techniques and social engineering, the importance of protecting passwords and official accounts, secure email handling, links and electronic files.
The workshop also focused on the importance of individual responsibility in protecting the Ministry data and information, and promoting safe practices in the use of digital systems and resources.
The workshop is part of the Department of Cybersecurity's efforts to spread a cybersecurity culture and raise awareness of safe digital practices in the workplace, contributing to the protection of the department's digital resources and supporting its information security system.
The workshop was attended by Mr. Director General of the Department of Information Technology in the Statistics and Information Systems Authority, Professor Abbas Abdul Kazim, and the Director of the Department of Information Technology, Mr. Kamal Mohammed Hussain, and a number of Department and People Directors, as well as a number of the Ministry employees concerned.
