Erbil (Kurdistan24) - The Federal Integrity Authority of Iraq today announced the frustration of an attempt to confiscate and counterfeit two properties owned by the Ministry of Finance in an area of 40 dunams in Anbar province, revealing the issuance and execution of arrest and prosecution orders for 34 accused persons involved in the crime.

The agency reported, in an official statement, that a team from the Anbar Bureau of Investigation carried out transfers and field inspections involving the two Real Estate Registration and Urban Planning Directorates and the branch of the General Tax Authority in Fallujah, along with the Housing Cooperative Association in the province, to investigate the secrets of land transfer ownership.

The statement clarified that the inspection revealed a fraudulent operation involving employees and other non-employees, which was based on the falsification of a decision to prove receivability and transfer ownership of the two state-owned properties and register them as the Housing Cooperative Association, before being broken down into 336 pieces of land with an initial estimated value of up to 1.831 billion Iraqi dinars.

The Authority confirmed the execution of the arrest warrants issued against the accused, noting that the investigating judge specializing in issues of integrity in Ramadi issued a decision to place the sign of judicial seizure on real estate and prevent its handling, and to arrest the accused in accordance with the provisions of articles (289 and 298) of the IraqI Penal Code relating to counterfeiting and use of counterfeit editors.
