Internal Iraq: Closing 71 fake headquarters claiming to belong to the mob

The head of the Iraq Interior Ministry's relations and media department, Major General Madad Merri, has announced the closure of 71 "false posts claiming to belong to the People's Assembly".

This came during a press conference on Monday, 10 August 2026, where he reviewed statistics on the National Standing Committee on State-Owned Arms.

Mary explained that the commission began its work in January 2023 and will complete all phases by 2030.

He said the commission had "an information bank containing 6 million pieces of weaponry across the country", for the first time.
