The Turkish parliament has approved the resolution with 468 votes

The Turkish parliament approved the resolution bill by a majority of its members, with 468 votes, and 88 deputies voted against the two bills, while six deputies abstained.

On Monday, 10 August 2026, after intense discussions lasting nearly 12 hours, the Turkish parliament put forward a bill on "Strengthening National Support and Community Unity" for voting. Of the 562 MPs who attended the session, 468 MPs voted "yes" in favor of the bill, against 88 MPs who voted "no", while there were 6 neutral (false) votes.

The bill comes a year after the ongoing work of the resolution committee, which heard from nearly 140 people and held several special meetings.

The bill was introduced under the title "Proposal for a National Support and Community Unity Act" and consists of 12 articles.

In the voting process, the majority of political blocs showed their support for the law. The Justice and Development Party, the Nationalist Movement Party, the Equality and Peoples' Democracy Party (Dam Parti), the New Party, the New Way Party, along with the Free Advocacy Party (Hede Bar), the Turkish Workers' Party, and the Kadehin Party voted "yes" in favor of the law.

In contrast, the good party (İYİ Parti) voted "No", and the New Welfare Party voted "Neutral". A sort of dispute emerged within the new party bloc, where at least 30 MPs from the party voted "No".
