Erbil (Kurdistan 24) - The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Religious Affairs of the Kurdistan Region confirmed, on Monday 10 August 2026, its categorical rejection of any abuse of the Yazidi component, stressing that the culture of coexistence in the region represents a stable historical and social pillar.

The speaker concluded his statement with a firm commitment to the region's approach to fraternity, love and inclusive coexistence among all races.

For his part, the spokesman for the Union of Islamic Religious Scholars in Kurdistan, Abdullah Shirkaway, said in a statement to Kurdistan 24, that extremist and Nazis voices have no connection to the Kurdistan region, and do not express the essence of religion in any form.
