Sources familiar with Arabiya/event revealed that the commander of the Iranian Jerusalem Corps, Ismail Qahani, arrived in the capital Iraq, Baghdad.

The sources added that Kaani met during his visit with a number of popular mob and armed factions leaders, as well as leaders in the coordinating framework.

Prime Minister IraqI Ali Falah al-Zaidi set a deadline of September 30 for all factions to hand over their weapons to the Iraq state.

The Iraq State Administration Coalition also called for adherence to the deadlines for arms embargo measures, which begin after September 30, 2026, stressing that any armed activity outside the state would then be dealt with, in accordance with the Counter-Terrorism Act.

Kahani has visited Iraq repeatedly since taking over as successor to Qasim Soleimani, who was killed by an American strike near Baghdad airport in January 2020.
