The Governor of Diyala attends the fourth session of the Supreme Coordination Body between the provinces and stresses the importance of government decisions in supporting the province

The governor of Diyala, Prof. Adnan Muhammad Abbas Shamri, attended the fourth session of the High Commission for Coordination between the provinces, chaired by Council of Ministers President Ali Falah al-Zaidi, and attended by the general coordinator for provincial affairs Dr. Ahmed Abdul Al-Zahra Fatlawi, and a number of ministers, governors, heads of provincial councils, body members and advisers.

During the session, a number of service, economic and pension files touching the reality and needs of the governorates were discussed, as well as government measures to strengthen the role of local governments and support the most needy governorates, contributing to improving the level of services and providing development and stability requirements.

In the introduction of the files that were of interest during the meeting, the project of one million pieces of residential land in the provinces, where the president of Council of Ministers directed the launch of the executive procedures for the project from September 1, 2026, with the task of the provinces to decide the land locations and follow the necessary legal and technical procedures, including raising the hand of agricultural reform, changing the land type, completing the designs and transferring ownership to the municipalities.

The guidelines underlined the importance of selecting land according to criteria that ensure the reduction of conflicts, crops and agricultural contracts, and that locations are close to service sources and among future urban development pathways, thereby achieving the best benefit for citizens and supporting orderly urban expansion.

Governor of Diyala, Prof. Adnan Mohammad Abbas Shamri, attended the meeting as part of the follow-up of files and decisions relating to the governorate, working to ensure that Diyala receives governmental attention appropriate to its service and development needs, as well as pursuing opportunities to benefit from the housing and development projects being implemented in the governorates.

The participation of the Governor of Diyala in the meetings of the High Inter-Provincial Coordination Body underscores the vigilance of the Department of Conservation to be active in the decision-making sites and to follow up on files directly related to the lives of citizens, and to work in coordination with the Federal Government and relevant bodies to accelerate development and improve services in all areas of Diyala Province.
