Dhi Qar Crimes: 10 years in prison for convicted perpetrators dismissed as counsel to the Chief Justice

The Dhi Qar Criminal Court on Sunday (August 9, 2026) issued a 10-year prison sentence for two convicts for the crime of pretending to be an adviser to the Chief Justice.

The Dhi Qar Criminal Court on Sunday (August 9, 2026) issued a 10-year prison sentence for two convicts for the crime of pretending to be an adviser to the Chief Justice.

Justice media said in a statement received by Baghdad today that the convicts exploited the attribute of taking money from a citizen, in return for false promises to release his convicted brother in accordance with the provisions of article 28 (1) of the Drug and Mental Health Act.

He added that the verdict was based on Resolution 160/1 of 1983, as amended, instead of Articles 47, 48 and 49
