The assassination of the Libyan military intelligence commander in Benghazi

The commander of the Military Intelligence Service of the General Command of the Libyan Army, Gen. Fuzzi Mansour, was assassinated after an explosive device targeted his car exploded in the city of Benghazi, sources reported to "Arabia/event".

According to the sources, the attack took place in the Hawari area near the Lady Aisha mosque, where an explosive packet planted inside the Mansour's car exploded, killing him.

The security authorities have not yet released official details on the circumstances of the accident or the body responsible for the assassination, while investigations have begun to uncover the circumstances of the attack and identify those responsible.

General Fuzi Mansour is one of the most prominent military leaders in the ranks of the Libyan army, where he held several positions until 2024 when he became Director of the Military Intelligence Department of the General Command with the rank of General, after a military career in which he held a number of leadership positions.

Prior to that, al-Mansouri took over the command of the Gulf Military Area and the Ajedabya Operations Room, and made a name for himself as one of the most important field commanders in the Tripoli War in 2019, where he oversaw the axis of Ain Zara and the Spring Valley.

In August 2021, he was commissioned by Army Commander-in-Chief Khalifa Haftar Amra for the Saba Military Zone, and he appeared frequently in military and security activities and operations in southern Libya, especially related to fighting armed organizations and strengthening security in border areas.
