Baghdad can't protect us and we're contacting them to provide us with air defense systems

Interior Minister of the Kurdistan Region Riper Ahmed, on Tuesday, confirmed that the disagreements regarding the application of the ASICUDA system in the border ports have been resolved, noting that the region is continuing to communicate with the Chief of Army Staff IraqI regarding the acquisition of air defense systems to protect fields and facilities.

Ahmed, speaking at an exhibition organized by the Zirvani Force Command about the Barzanian descendants, and attended by the Shvek News Agency, said that the Asikuda file was discussed extensively, and that the head of the regional government followed the matter personally, pointing out that the two sides agreed days ago to send the file to the federal Council of Ministers.

He explained that the only point discussed was the distribution of border gate revenues, stressing the need for equal distribution between the two sides according to the law, pointing out that this file has been resolved and there are no longer any problems preventing the application of the ASICUDA system.

He added that the implementation of the system "is in the interest of both the federal government and the provincial government".

Regarding compensation for the victims of the attacks in the Kurdistan Region, Ahmed said that the region prepared a detailed report, while the relevant authorities recorded all the damage and submitted it to the federal government, stressing: "We have not seen any practical steps so far".

Regarding air defense systems, the interior minister explained that the regional government was in contact with the Chief of Army Staff IraqI with this file, pointing out that the federal government promised to approve the region's acquisition of these systems.
