KURDIN closes the registration door on the Hajj lottery for two seasons and prepares to announce the results

The Directorate of Hajj and Umrah in the Kurdistan Region, on Tuesday, announced the registration of about 120,000 citizens, including last year's payment, in the online lottery for the 2027 and 2028 seasons.

This came during a press conference held by the director general of Hajj and Umrah in the region, Sheikh Riya Mulana Khaled Palesani, in which he explained that the online system for registering names was officially closed at exactly 12:00 midnight yesterday, after being extended for an additional 5 days as a result of the heavy census, where it had been opened on the 20th of last month.

He pointed out that the total number of applicants was about 120,000 across the region, including last year's payment.

According to the details announced by the Directorate-General of Hajj and Umrah, the numbers of applicants were distributed as follows:

Average population: 116,693 people.

The Director-General confirmed that after completing the process of verification and review of forms in the region, the names included for performing the Hajj duty will be determined based on the quota allocated to the Kurdistan Region in coordination with the Hajj and Umrah Iraq, noting that the lottery process will take place during the next few days, while the Directorate has not yet determined the cost of the Hajj journey.
